The online poker scene was buzzing with high-stakes action all week, with PokerBaazi’s spectacular ₹28+ Crores GTD Indian Poker Masters taking centre stage. This inaugural mega series continues to register almost guarantee-doubling participation across the board, proving once again that poker’s appeal continues to soar.
Meanwhile, Pocket52’s largest-ever ₹5 Crores GTD Big Pocket Series culminated in an exciting finale last Sunday. The platform also amplified its prominence by promising an astounding ₹11.50 Crores in guaranteed prize money across its August tournaments, firmly stamping its presence in the big leagues. Combined with the other signature events across major platforms, the online tournament action was nothing short of exhilarating!

Already a two-time Player of the Year (POY) champion, Sood’s quest for greatness is far from over. He is on a remarkable journey, striving for an unprecedented third POY title, holding an unassailable lead at the top of the annual leaderboard for an astonishing seven consecutive weeks.
Considering his sky-high standards, Sood’s weekly earnings of ₹5.52 Lakhs may seem modest. However, this was realized through an impressive array of 15 deep runs, including a top finish in PokerStars India’s The Colosseum (₹2.75 Lakhs) and another final table score.
But the figures that genuinely encapsulate Sood’s prowess are his annual winnings, which have reached an astronomical ₹3.60 Crores. Even more remarkable is that ₹1.72 Crores of this amount are pure profits.
